The Feral Housewife's Guide to

Living Authentically, Creatively, & Intentionally

Issue # || Month day, year || Previous issues

Hey Reader,

I've never considered myself a poet, despite having written tons of poems.

I'm usually too embarrassed to share them.

But today, for the first time, I'm THRILLED to announce that one of my poems has been published!

I thank my editor and teacher Laurence Carr for his generous support. He's a poet, a published author, and a retired creative writing and theater production professor. Currently, he teaches writing workshops at our local libraries and he runs an online magazine called Lightwoodpress.

You may recognize this magazine because l mentioned it last year when they published my flash fiction piece called A Dirge to the Sea.

Anyway, I'd love you to check out, not only my poem Pretend you don't see it on Lightwood, but feel free to enjoy the many other creative souls hanging out there.

And if you'd like, Larry would love for you to submit one of your poems to him at larrycarr521@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading.

Have a great weekend.

With Love, Creativity, & Intention,

Anna

I'm Anna—a recovering perfectionist, feral housewife, and writer.

I help overwhelmed women wake up from autopilot, ditch the guilt, and question the narratives they've been handed—so they can figure out who they are underneath all the roles.

What you think, believe, and feel influences everything—and most of us were never given permission to listen, let alone heal.

Think. Feel. Write. Heal.

Issue # 104 | January 30th, 2026 | Previous issues Hey Reader, One of my favorite sarcastic memes is: How about that for 'cozy absurdism' 🤪 Seriously! Who doesn't love a good beating to improve morale? Oh wait — you don't agree? Well, that's funny… until you realize how many of us are living that way and don't even realize it. It's because we're not using our literal fists. We're using our thoughts as weapons. I'm guilty of it. This week I realized I was staring at a simple “no” on a...

Issue #103 | January 22nd, 2026 | Previous issues Hey Reader, Did you hear? We may be getting a blizzard this Sunday in New York. Finally!!! ☃️ They're predicting anywhere from 3-58 inches (ugh that dash, talk about uncertainty!). The last time the Hudson Valley had a true blizzard was 1996. I'll be incredibly disappointed if we get only 3 inches (is that even snow?). Here's my (AI generated) please let it snow dance. In one of those early '90s winters when the snow kept falling, I remember...

Issue #103 | January 16th, 2026 | Previous issues Hey Reader, Are you pouring from an empty cup? Maybe you've been doing everything the "books" say to do in order to fill your cup FIRST so you can give — from your overflow. 🥤 Have you ever felt, however, that no matter how much you try to fill your cup, you're still running on empty most of the time. Why? Could it be you're trying to fill a leaky cup that has holes in it? That might explain why you can do all the right things — sleep, breathe...
